Primitive Rug Hooking classes forming in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Hi, I'm Judith King.  Would you like to learn to make your own beautiful wool rugs using fabic you can buy inexpensivey at the thrift store?  Contact me at 661-309-6631 / jking818@socal.rr.com to learn more.

            THIS IS NOT LATCH HOOKING!

           THESE ARE NOT SHAG RUGS!

Here's my first rug.  I used a quilt pattern - schoolhouse - using mostly recycled wool from a red jacket, a red and white checked skirt, and a Pendleton shirt. I dyed the white background wool using tea (yes, tea) for an antique effect.

You can also make wall hangings, footstool covers, pillows, table runners, three-dimensional objects...almost anything you can imagine...using the art of primitive rug hooking.

I just finished making this three-dimensional pumpkin using the stem from last year's Halloween pumpkin. I dyed the wool for this with onion skins.  Cute, eh?  Wouldn't you like to learn how to do this great craft?

See the background on this page?  This is a large footstool cover I am making to beautify my very ugly old ottoman.  I still have far to go, since this is a very large footstool, but it will be worth all my time and effort once it's finished.

Check out my other pages.  You'll learn where and why rug hooking started and how it has evolved over two hundred years, you'll have your questions answered (and you can pose your own), you'll see some of my work, and you will find out where to contact me when you decide this is something you want to learn how to do.  Join me, won't you?  You'll love the craft, the people, and the things you make.  Judith
