RUG HOOKING
in the Santa Clarita Valley
Golden Oak Adult School Classes
For those of you who may have been interested in joining me through the Golden Oak Adult School program, sadly, not enough people signed up and GO had to cancel the class. However, we are determined to bring this to the SCV community, so...a Beginner Rug Hooking Class is expected to be featured in the Fall catalog. Keep an eye out or check their online catalog for details: www.goldenoakadultschool.com. Meanwhile, see below for ongoing classes.

Ongoing Private Classes
Private classes, meaning those not taught in a school setting, are available to anyone who is interested in a one-on-one class, or in joining a group of hookers who have anywhere from 0 to 12+ years of rug hooking experience. In this environment, you will work on whatever projects you wish. You can learn how to design patterns and transfer them to backing and to dye your own wool...or, you can purchase patterns and wool from whichever source you choose. Days and times vary – usually weekday evenings from 6:30-9:00. Saturday morning classes also can be arranged, so contact me and let me know when would be best for you.
Here are a few suggestions for beginners. Each teaches the methods used to accomplish any hand hooked project going forward - no matter how complicated: straight lines, curves, points, squares, etc. These designs come in kit form and include the pattern printed on fabric backing, wool fabric for hooking, rug binding, wool yarn for whipping/finishing edge, and your very own hook.
Note: If you have hooking experience and would prefer to work on a different project, that's great. Just let me know if you need a different pattern or if you have something you're already working on.
